Sydney Jamboree is one of the premier drag racing events in Australia, and for Valenhold Racing and Slaughter Motorsport, it represents a key moment in the racing calendar.
Held at Sydney Dragway, the event brings together some of the fastest import and Pro Turbo cars in the country. This year, the team arrived with one goal: execute, learn, and push the MK3 Toyota Supra drag program forward.
Pre-Race Preparation: Where Performance Begins
In professional drag racing, results are built long before race day.
The Valenhold Racing, Slaughter Motorsport team invested significant time preparing the MK3 Toyota Supra, ensuring every component was race-ready. From drivetrain checks to engine calibration, no detail was overlooked.
A key upgrade ahead of Sydney Jamboree included a cam gear adjustment, completed with support from Platinum Racing Products. Additional improvement with the fitment of an Innovators West damper and also a 112mm HPT Turbo ensured the car was dialled in for optimal performance.
This level of preparation is what separates competitive teams from the rest of the field.
Race Day at Sydney Dragway
Race day at Sydney Jamboree delivered exactly what you’d expect—high intensity, strong competition, and constantly changing conditions.
Track grip and air density played a significant role throughout the event, requiring ongoing adjustments between passes. The team approached each run methodically, using data to refine the setup and improve performance.
While not every pass was perfect, each run provided valuable insights into the car’s behaviour and capabilities under pressure.
Qual 1: 7.239@143.67mph, back off at half as was first pass since upgrades.
Qual 2: 21.701@24.93mph, destroyed two coils on the start line, got out of it.
Qual 3: Cancelled due to number of oil downs, so cut from program.
Racing Round 1: Win to us with a 7.10@209mph
Racing Round 2: Win, we had a bye, ran a 6.595@214.83mph.
Racing Round 3: Loss, red light, ran a 6.454@219.69mph.
Racing Final: Loss, red light, then car tried to go for the moon with a huge wheelstand. No time recorded.
We went to the finals, and although the team had the fastest Pro Turbo car on property, a small mistake from Ben saw the car leave early and red light handing the win to Eddy Hawach of Enviro Racing. It wasn't all bad with the team achieving multiple personal bests from the day, ending up with a new pb of 6.45@219mph, now putting the team in the number three spot in Australia!

Team Performance and Execution
Success in drag racing comes down to teamwork.
From driver execution to crew coordination, the Valenhold Racing and Slaughter Motorsport team operated with precision throughout the event. Fast turnaround times, clear communication, and attention to detail ensured the car remained competitive across all sessions.
Motorsport at this level is never a solo effort—it’s the result of a committed and experienced team working toward a shared goal. A huge thank you to all the lads and families who enable this to happen.

What’s Next for Valenhold Racing, Slaughter Motorsport
With Sydney Jamboree complete, the focus shifts back to development, and our next event the Gulf Western Oils Winternationals from June 4th-7th.
The team will continue refining the setup, improving consistency, and extracting more performance from the car. Upcoming events will provide further opportunities to apply what’s been learned and continue progressing.
